OCULARIST/OWNER

Sherry Richardson grew up in Alabama (Roll Tide!) and graduated from Herzing College located in Birmingham, AL. Sherry has been in the field of Ocularistry for over 28 years, 25 of those being a member of the American Society of Ocularists (ASO). Sherry is thankful to have trained under Bill Cox and Elise Cox Pratt at Cox Ocular Prosthetics in Birmingham, receiving her title of Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) and Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO) in 2002. Sherry is an owner/partner of Cumberland Prosthetics, Inc. She also serves as a member of the Education Committee in the ASO. She enjoys spending time with and spoiling her 13 grandchildren, cooking, gardening and reading. Sherry is an active member of Mt Hermon Baptist Church, along with her husband, John Richardson, who pastors the church. She feels very blessed and thankful to God for being able to work in this field and use her talents to help others.

OCULARIST/OWNER

Chesley Edwards grew up in Mississippi and Arkansas. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He earned his B. F. A. degree in Art with a concentration in Sculpture. Chesley’s keen artist’s eye and passion for helping others led him to an extensive apprenticeship with Steve Sanders, a Fellow-American Society Ocularist. After Chesley successfully completed his training/education, The National Examining Board of Ocularists (NEBO) awarded Chesley the title Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) and Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO) in 2018. Upon Steve’s retirement in 2021, Chesley became an owner/partner of Cumberland Prosthetics, Inc. He also serves as a member of the Education Committee in the ASO. Chesley and his wife, Elizabeth, have two young girls. Together, he and his family enjoy all that Nashville has to offer. On any given weekend, you’ll find the Edwards family at the zoo, a concert, playing tennis, or exploring the outdoors at a park and hiking the trails.

OCULARIST

Erika Hedtcke grew up in Arkansas and received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from Arkansas State University in 2017. She worked as an ophthalmic technician while earning her undergraduate degree- which ignited her passion for ocular healthcare. Erika moved to Tennessee in 2018 to pursue a career in Ocularistry.

Erika completed her education from the College of Ocularistry and training under Sherry Richardson, a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist in 2024.

She and her husband, Matthew, are proud to be involved in the Nashville community and enjoy traveling around the world any chance they get.
